A Serious Question
Posted 7 July 2008 in Television by Catriona
When was the last time that Eddie Murphy starred in a movie with anyone other than Eddie Murphy?
Don’t get me wrong: the more Eddie Murphies there are in a movie, the happier I feel about not going to see it.
But is this not the ultimate in narcissism?

Does the Shrek series count?

God, I hope not.
Actually, I enjoyed the first one very much—I think it was the torturing of the Gingerbread Man that got me.
But the second one was banal, and there was a third one, wasn’t there? I’ve not seen that, and I doubt I will.

Right on. Shrek was great and after that it was all downhill except for Puss in Boots.

Man, Puss in Boots was adorable. But not enough to make me watch the third movie.

As a mother of two I can’t express fully enough how glad I am my boys aren’t shrek fans, I liked the first one as well, but I could not bear the 2nd or 3rd on repeat :)
I think that Eddie Murphy has had some cool movies but these days he might be the only co-star thats willing to sign up next to him, isn’t he meant to be a prima donna

It wouldn’t surprise me in the least if he were a prima donna. I’m also amazed that the movies keep making money—but that’s just because they don’t appeal to me. Like the Scary Movie franchise: that just bewilders me.

I’m bewildered by Adam Sandler

Who isn’t, frankly?
I’m increasingly bewildered by Mike Myers—and that saddens me, because while I never cared for Austin Powers, not even in the first incarnation, I loved, and still love, So I Married an Axe Murderer.
