Because a bird eating with its feet is adorable.

A rosella methinks. Have you taught it to pull the cork from a bottle and say “bottoms up me hardies”?

I thought I’d stick with the vague (but accurate) “bird” because the whole rosella/lorikeet/parakeet distinction escapes me (though I can recognise a budgerigar when I see one).
I love these yellow and blue ones, though. More subtle than the fairly flashy red and green ones. Not as stunning as the rainbows, though.
Alas, he’s moved on to pastures greener, but if he returns, I’ll teach him to drink gin and recite “The Lord’s Prayer,” which is an idea I took from an H. E. Bates novel.
