Such a bad blogger as I have been! Apart from anything else, the Internet access here is appalling. But while I have a brief window of Internet accessibility, enjoy my brief series of zoo photos (in three parts).
I’ll be back in Brisbane tomorrow, and blogging will resume forthwith, including an idea for an ongoing series that I nicked from Susan Hill (with some tweaking. Just not very interesting tweaking).

I’ve been a neglectful blogger this past six months: I do know that. It would have been worse if I hadn’t had all those episodes of Doctor Who and Torchwood to live-blog.
Let’s put it down to a slightly stressful work situation and not allow it to poison our future relationship.
But I can’t promise it’ll get better over the next fortnight, what with travelling to Sydney for Christmas and New Year—a holiday that, frankly, I desperately need right now.
So I’ll leave you with some Christmas photos. I’m not saying this is definitely my last post for 2009, but, in case it turns out that way, at least the year ends with some pretty ribbons and sparkling lights.

See, doesn’t he look apologetic?
Sure, last time I used a picture to apologise for the tardiness of my updates, it was a duck. Ducks are soothing. But I thought a space marine might be soothing in its own way—for a start, it might soothe any tendency to mumble, “Man, why doesn’t she just update regularly?”
It’s marking season, as my earlier photographs showed.
But I’ll be live-blogging Doctor Who tonight—the second-last episode of the season—and I promise I’ll blog about books again, soon. As soon as I have a chance to read any.

(I’m listening to The Cult’s “She Sells Sanctuary” as I upload these. True story.)
