Really Quick Wildlife Post

Posted 2 December 2008 in by Catriona

My parents don’t entirely grasp the need for me to update the blog (do I sound sixteen instead of thirty-two?) and are clamouring for their dinner.

So, in lieu of a proper update, here are some photographs of my lovely kookaburra, shot this evening.

When I have a chance, I’ll add some photographs of the moon, taken tonight.

Crikey! You don’t get more true-blue-Aussie-mateship-fair-go than a kookaburra on a lightly rusted hill’s hoist with weathered pine clothes pegs.

Actually, it wasn’t until I moved to Queensland that I appreciated wooden clothes pegs. We always used plastic ones, and I did too—until the first time one distintegrated in my hand after too much sun exposure.

Of course, I could take them off the line and put them in a basket, but frankly I’m too lazy.
